Anusha Rachel Mathew, O.D. is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. She became interested in optometry due to the versatility of the profession with its many specialties, particularly in ocular disease and specialty contact lenses.
Dr. Mathew practices full-scope optometry that includes comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, treatment, and management of dry eye, eye injuries, eye infections, and corneal and retinal conditions. She also offers LASIK consultations and co-management of cataracts.
She is fluent in English and Malayalam and can provide eye examinations in Spanish.
Dr. Mathew is committed to serving her patients with the utmost care for their vision and ocular health, ensuring all their needs and concerns are addressed. Dr. Mathew enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends as well as traveling, cooking, and eating all the delicious food Houston offers.
Dr. Sugar graduated from Illinois College of Optometry in 1990 and The University of Texas at Austin in 1986. His practice includes comprehensive optometry, contact lenses, treatment and management of ocular conditions, and Laser Vision Consultation.
He is board certified by the state of Texas in Therapeutic Optometry, and in 2001 Dr. Sugar became a Certified Glaucoma Specialist. He is a native Houstonian who graduated from Westbury High School. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends. His other interests include watching baseball (most of the time the Astros), traveling, painting, and playing golf.
Born and raised in Bellaire, Dr. Dan Wishnow graduated from Bellaire High School in 1978. He attended the University of Texas in Austin as an undergrad. He attained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and graduated in 1982. In 1984, Dr. Dan received a Bachelor of Science in Visual Science from Illinois College of Optometry, which led him to receive his Doctorate Of Optometry in 1986.
Dr. Dan furthered his education with a Therapeutic Optometric degree to treat eye disorders, and in 2001 he became an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He also specializes in sports vision and contact lenses.
For ten years, Dr. Wishnow was the Houston Oilers professional football team’s Optometrist. He is involved in co-managing for laser surgery, cataract surgery, and other ocular surgeries. He had the LASIK surgery himself in 1998.
